I have been hearing that majority of AI related works are poorly funded which means many things. One of its impacts is that someone who is really interested in finding a career in A-Life related research is likely to have a hard time finding a satisfying job, if any.
Just to share my personal experience in this respect, I am planning to graduate coming May with a Ph.D. and have been searching very hard to find an A-Life related research positions which my heart is heavily set on forever. Not much luck so far - very limited resources and links on the net.
Would you like to share your experiences and perspectives regarding A-Life related careers?
Thank you in advance,
Best+,

So work with the open-source community and forget about the career. Get a stupid part-time job that requires zero thought.
The best R&D happens in the CLEAR air free of corporate/academic bullshit. Enjoy the company of the rest of us ditch-diggers and never hear one damn word about budgets or deadlines.
Einstein did his best work while employed at a patent office and recommended getting a job in plumbing.
I call that good advice. |
